A Buc-ee’s Christmas Eve to Remember at Leeds, Alabama

Christmas Eve often brings the hustle and bustle of last-minute preparations, and for Karla and me, it meant a return to one of our favorite places: the Buc-ee’s in Leeds, Alabama. Our visit wasn’t just about picking up gifts; it turned into an unforgettable experience filled with great food, wonderful people, and a sprinkle of Buc-ee’s magic.

We arrived with a mission: to grab a few last-minute gifts for family and friends. Along the way, I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of treats for myself—a festive Christmas onesie and a Buc-ee’s waffle maker. Yes, you read that right—a waffle maker that imprints Buc-ee’s iconic face onto each waffle. How cool is that? I can’t wait to try it out!

Our Christmas dinner was also on the agenda. We picked up sliced brisket and sausage from the Texas Round-Up to be the stars of our holiday meal. Paired with some classic sides, it promises to be a feast even Santa would envy.

Of course, no visit to Buc-ee’s is complete without acknowledging the amazing team members who make every trip special. A huge thank-you to Matthew, the general manager, who not only remembered me from a previous visit but went above and beyond to get Karla a hot, fresh biscuit straight from the oven. His kindness exemplifies Buc-ee’s unparalleled hospitality.

Frank and Alex in the Texas Round-Up did an outstanding job preparing our Christmas dinner meats, ensuring everything was cooked to perfection. Allie and Sarah carefully packed our gifts and goodies, taking special care of my new Buc-ee’s coffee cup. Darren deserves a big shoutout for keeping the restrooms immaculate, even on a busy holiday.

For our meal during the visit, I indulged in a Big Buckin’ Brisket
sandwich, Beaver Chips, and a Diet Dr. Pepper. Karla enjoyed her biscuit with a side of fresh grapes. As we sat and soaked in the festive spirit, it became clear that Buc-ee’s isn’t just a pit stop—it’s a destination, a community, and for us, a part of our Christmas tradition.

Thank you, Leeds Buc-ee’s team, for making this Christmas Eve truly special. We’ll cherish the memories—and the waffles—for years to come.

Buc-ee’s Coming to Kansas: A New Gem for Travelers

Buc-ee’s fans, get ready! The first-ever Buc-ee’s location in Kansas is officially on its way. Wyandotte County commissioners have approved a bill of sale and property exchange, paving the way for this monumental addition to the Village West area.

A Strategic Land Swap
Commissioner Tom Burroughs detailed the process behind this exciting project, describing it as a land swap for signage. This allows Kansas Speedway to divest itself of specific properties and reposition its signage, clearing the path for Buc-ee’s and other facilities in Village West. The travel center will be located at 601 Village West Parkway, right next to Kansas Speedway—a prime spot for both local and out-of-state visitors.

What to Expect
This Buc-ee’s promises to be a game-changer. Spanning 74,000 square feet, it will house:
  • 120 gas pumps
  • 12 electric vehicle charging stations
  • A massive store filled with Buc-ee’s staples like Beaver Nuggets, Texas-style brisket sandwiches, and an array of unique merchandise.
The Bakery: A Sweet Treat Awaits
No Buc-ee’s trip is complete without visiting the bakery. From fresh kolaches to decadent fudge and all sorts of delicious treats, the bakery is a standout feature that has captured the hearts (and taste buds) of fans across the country.

Economic Impact
With an estimated 4 million annual visitors, this location is set to attract travelers from all over, further solidifying Buc-ee’s status as a destination, not just a stop. The project, with a staggering $95 million price tag, will be privately funded for the most part.

On Our Buc-ee’s List
As devoted Buc-ee’s enthusiasts, my wife and I are thrilled to add this location to our growing "Buc-ee’s List" as we pursue our goal of visiting every single store.

Follow Along with with the one and only Snackinbuckaroo

Kansas location, check out our TikTok channel, @Snackinbuckaroo. We highlight hidden gems like candied jalapeños and salsa, ensuring you never miss out on Buc-ee’s best-kept secrets.

With the commissioners’ approval and plans in place, we’re one step closer to welcoming the magic of Buc-ee’s to Kansas. We can’t wait to share the journey with you!

Stay tuned for more updates and sweet treats.

Introducing a Friend to Buc-ee's: A Memorable December Visit to Calhoun, GA

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, I had the absolute pleasure of introducing a dear friend, Jessica, to the magic of Buc-ee’s for the very first time. Jessica had flown into Atlanta for our company’s Christmas party and, as luck would have it, extended her visit over the weekend. When she mentioned she’d never experienced a Buc-ee’s before, I couldn’t wait to show her what makes it so special.

As someone who loves introducing people to Buc-ee’s, this trip to the Calhoun, GA location was particularly exciting. Jessica was amazed from the moment we stepped inside. We started with some Buc-ee’s classics: chopped brisket sandwiches, Beaver chips, and a paddle tail. We also ventured into something new and picked up a jar of Buc-ee’s Spicy Pickled Eggs—a delicious discovery! Needless to say, our taste buds were more than satisfied.

Of course, no trip to Buc-ee’s is complete without a bit of shopping. Jessica and I found plenty of Christmas gifts for our families and even picked out a few surprises for each other. The wide variety of items, from home décor to unique snacks, never fails to impress.

Later that day, we made a second visit to the store and were thrilled
to meet Christmas Buc-ee himself! We couldn’t resist taking a picture with him, capturing a memory we’ll both cherish. Jessica was so taken with the experience that she’s already planning her next Buc-ee’s visit—this time to the Leeds, Alabama location when she returns to Atlanta in February 2025.

The Calhoun team truly went above and beyond to make this visit special. Jennifer in the Sweets section welcomed us with samples of Buc-ee’s incredible fudge, and we walked away with a generous selection of flavors. Her kindness and enthusiasm were infectious. At the register, Yvonne meticulously organized and bagged our purchases and, upon learning it was Jessica’s first visit, made every effort to ensure it was an unforgettable one. Their exceptional service perfectly encapsulates the warmth and hospitality that Buc-ee’s is known for.

Looking Ahead: A Buc-ee’s Christmas Adventure
As the holidays approach, my wife and I have even more Buc-ee’s adventures planned. We’ll be celebrating Christmas Day at the Buc-ee’s in Leeds, Alabama—a unique way to spend the holiday that we’re both looking forward to. Later in the month, my wife will embark on a trip to Florida to visit the Buc-ee’s locations in St. Augustine and Daytona Beach on December 29th and 30th. These visits will undoubtedly add more wonderful memories to our Buc-ee’s List.

Gratitude for Buc-ee’s and Its Amazing Team
Reflecting on these experiences, I’m incredibly grateful for all the special moments Buc-ee’s has brought into our lives. It’s more than just a stop on the road; it’s a destination that consistently delivers joy, comfort, and a sense of community. A big thank-you to Arch "Beaver" Aplin III and the entire Buc-ee’s team for creating a place where travelers feel right at home. The dedication of your employees, like Jennifer and Yvonne, truly sets Buc-ee’s apart.

If you’ve never been to a Buc-ee’s, take it from Jessica—it’s an experience you don’t want to miss. Whether you’re grabbing a brisket sandwich, stocking up on fudge, or snapping a picture with Christmas Buc-ee, there’s something magical waiting for you at every location. And who knows? Maybe we’ll see you on our next adventure!

Monroe County’s Buc-ee’s: Georgia’s Next Travelers’ Oasis

Georgia is buzzing with excitement as plans for a new Buc-ee's location in Monroe County take a big step forward. On Monday night, county leaders approved the initial requests to bring the beloved Texas-based chain to the state’s central region, adding to the growing list of Buc-ee’s destinations in Georgia.

This upcoming Buc-ee’s will be strategically positioned off I-75 at Rumble Road, just before the I-475 split—a prime spot for travelers heading toward Macon, Savannah, or further into the Sunshine State.
What to Expect at the Monroe County Buc-ee’s

When it comes to Buc-ee’s, bigger is always better, and Monroe County’s future location is no exception. The proposed 74,000-square-foot facility will sit on a sprawling 30-acre site, boasting 120 gas pumps and an impressive array of amenities. While the timeline for construction hasn’t been confirmed, the sheer anticipation is enough to have us packing our bags already.

If the Monroe County location is anything like its siblings in Calhoun and Warner Robins, guests can look forward to:
  • Freshly-prepared brisket sandwiches (including our all-time favorite, the Big Buckin' Brisket).

  • A bakery filled with sweet treats like kolaches, beaver nuggets, and fresh fudge.
  • Walls lined with Buc-ee’s signature snacks, jerky, salsa, and quirky gifts.
  • A shopping experience that includes everything from home décor to outdoor gear.
And let’s not forget Buc-ee’s world-famous restrooms—consistently rated among the cleanest in the nation.

Currently, Georgia is home to Buc-ee’s locations in Calhoun and Warner Robins, with a third under construction in Brunswick, set to open on June 2, 2025. Adding Monroe County to the map will make Georgia even more of a road trip paradise.

For Karla and me, this announcement is another exciting addition to our ongoing Buc-ee’s List, our personal mission to visit every Buc-ee’s location nationwide. This journey has taken us across multiple states, with more planned for the months ahead, including stops in Tennessee, Florida, and Kentucky. The Monroe County location will be a key destination as we work toward completing our list.

Buc-ee’s isn’t just a stop along the highway; it’s a destination. For us, Buc-ee’s embodies the spirit of adventure and the joy of the open road. Each location has its own unique charm while maintaining the signature Buc-ee’s experience: friendly staff, delicious food, and endless options for snacks and souvenirs.

As we look ahead to the Monroe County opening, we can’t help but imagine the experiences waiting for us there—new food items to try, more hidden gems to discover (their salsa and candied jalapeños are must-haves!), and countless memories to make along the way.

While construction hasn’t started yet, the excitement is already building. Whether you’re a seasoned road warrior or someone looking for a fun pit stop, Monroe County’s Buc-ee’s promises to deliver the full Buc-ee’s experience.

Keep following along on foodandflame.com as Karla and I continue to chronicle our Buc-ee’s adventures. And if you spot us in our SnackinBuckaroo gear at the grand opening, be sure to stop and say “Howdy!”

In the meantime, we’ll keep updating you on the latest Buc-ee’s news—and maybe try to convince Arch “Beaver” Aplin III to add Villa Rica, Georgia, to the list next.

Stay tuned, Buc-ee’s fans. We’ll see y’all at the pump!

A Merry Buc-ee’s Christmas Adventure: Warner Robins, St. Augustine, Daytona Beach & La Quinta

This Christmas, Karla and I are embarking on a festive Buc-ee’s road trip that combines our love for Buc-ee’s with our dedication to Wyndham Hotels, particularly our favorite, La Quinta Inns & Suites. This year’s trip is extra special because we’re tackling the ambitious goal of visiting three Buc-ee’s locations in one day*—breakfast at Warner Robins, Georgia, lunch at St. Augustine, Florida, and dinner at Daytona Beach, Florida.

Adding to the excitement, we’ll end our day by staying at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Port Orange / Daytona, located just 11 miles south of the Daytona Beach Buc-ee’s, right off I-95 S. As loyal members of the Wyndham Rewards program, we can’t wait to enjoy the comfort and hospitality that make La Quinta feel like a home away from home.

Breakfast at Buc-ee’s: Warner Robins, Georgia
Our day begins bright and early at the Warner Robins Buc-ee’s, where we’ll fuel up with a delicious breakfast. For me, it’s all about the brisket breakfast taco paired with Buc-ee’s 5-Fire Roasted Pepper salsa, while Karla loves their buttery kolaches. Warner Robins is a favorite stop on our Buc-ee’s List and always sets the tone for an amazing day.

Lunch Stop: St. Augustine, Florida
By midday, we’ll arrive at the St. Augustine Buc-ee’s for lunch. This location, with its historic charm, is perfect for indulging in Buc-ee’s world-famous brisket sandwiches and exploring their seasonal holiday merchandise. Whether it’s picking up snacks for the road or finding unique gifts, St. Augustine always has something special to offer.

Dinner on the Coast: Daytona Beach, Florida
As the sun sets, we’ll reach the Daytona Beach Buc-ee’s for dinner. Pulled pork sandwiches, freshly prepared sides, and maybe a slice of their fudge will make for the perfect meal to cap off an incredible day. This coastal Buc-ee’s is always buzzing with energy, and we’re excited to see how they’ve embraced the holiday spirit.

A Relaxing Stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Port Orange / Daytona
After our Daytona Beach Buc-ee’s adventure, we’ll head just 11 miles south on I-95 S to check in at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Port Orange / Daytona. This hotel has everything we need after a long day of traveling: spacious rooms, a cozy bed, and exceptional service that makes every stay memorable.

As frequent travelers and Wyndham Rewards members, we’ve come to trust La Quinta for its consistency and comfort. It’s the perfect place to relax and recharge for the next day, when we’ll revisit the Buc-ee’s locations we explored the day before. The proximity of the Port Orange La Quinta to the Daytona Beach Buc-ee’s makes it an ideal base for this trip.

Revisiting Our Favorites
One of the unique aspects of our Buc-ee’s adventures is that we love to revisit the stores we’ve just seen. The morning after this epic day, we’ll return to Warner Robins, St. Augustine, and Daytona Beach Buc-ee’s for another round of snacks, souvenirs, and fun. Every visit offers something new to discover, and we’re always excited to dive back in.

Three Buc-ee’s, One La Quinta: The Perfect Holiday Combo
This Christmas road trip is about more than just checking locations off our Buc-ee’s List—it’s about the joy of the journey. With the convenience and comfort of La Quinta Inns & Suites as our home base and the incredible experience of visiting three Buc-ee’s in one day, this adventure is a testament to how much we love travel, food, and making memories together.

If you’re planning a trip through Georgia and Florida this holiday season, we highly recommend pairing your Buc-ee’s stops with a stay at a Wyndham property like La Quinta Port Orange / Daytona. Their dedication to quality and service makes every trip feel special, and as Buc-ee’s fans, we couldn’t ask for a better partner in travel.

From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and happy travels!

Buc-ee’s Sevierville, TN: A Behemoth in the Smokies

Our Thanksgiving weekend Buc-ee’s adventure took us to the iconic Sevierville, TN location, one of the crown jewels of the Buc-ee’s family. This stop was the third of our day, after visits to Calhoun, GA, and Crossville, TN, and it did not disappoint.

Opened on June 26, 2023, this Buc-ee’s boasts a staggering 74,707 square feet, making it the largest Buc-ee’s in the country—until the crown returned to Texas with the new Luling location. With 120 fueling stations and a carwash, it’s a testament to the larger-than-life experience Buc-ee’s offers.

A Grand Welcome
We arrived at the Sevierville location around 3 PM, and the sight was nothing short of breathtaking. It was packed with people—like a retail store on Black Friday after the doors open. The hustle and bustle were incredible, with customers streaming in to grab snacks, shop for holiday gifts, and, of course, fuel up.

I had a great chat with Jamie, one of the cashiers, who explained that this was just an average Sunday crowd. For anyone unfamiliar with Buc-ee’s, "average" in Sevierville feels like a massive event, and the energy inside the store was electric. Jamie taught me how to say, "Sevierville" like a real native. I have heard it said so many different ways and wanted to make sure I didn't mess up the name.

Dinner and Buc-ee’s Delights
After soaking in the experience, we picked up dinner before heading to our hotel to rest from a long day of travels. Karla opted for something light but couldn’t resist her all-time favorite, the chopped brisket sandwich. She paired it with a fruit cup for a balanced and satisfying meal.

I, on the other hand, wanted to sample a bit of everything. My selections included a sliced brisket sandwich, the chicken and fries meal, a fruit cup, and some chocolate pudding. While I didn’t eat it all at once, I can confidently say that everything reheated beautifully and tasted just as delicious later.

Breakfast Before the Trip Home
Before heading back home, I made an early morning stop at Buc-ee’s to grab our breakfast and prepare for the journey. It’s become a tradition for us to revisit all the Buc-ee’s locations we explored the previous day, and this trip was no exception. I picked up coffee, a Texas Squeeze Orange Juice, and Beaver Tots to start the day off right. For Karla, I grabbed a bean, egg, and cheese burrito, while I treated myself to the hearty Beast burrito. With a small bag of ice and a full tank of fuel, we were ready to hit the road and relive the magic of each Buc-ee’s stop from our adventure.

A Location Worth Visiting
Sevierville’s Buc-ee’s is more than just a stop along the way; it’s a destination in itself. From its impressive size to its unbeatable food offerings, it embodies everything we love about Buc-ee’s. Whether you’re passing through on a Smoky Mountains getaway or making a pilgrimage just to visit this location, it’s an experience you won’t soon forget.

For Karla and me, Buc-ee’s isn’t just a pit stop; it’s a part of our journey, and Sevierville reminded us why we love it so much. If you haven’t been to this location yet, put it on your “Buc-ee’s List” and prepare to be amazed.

Two Buc-ee’s, One Day: A Memorable Visit to Tennessee’s First Buc-ee’s in Crossville

When you’re on a mission to visit every Buc-ee’s in the nation, some days turn into grand adventures. This Thanksgiving season, we kicked off our day with a hearty breakfast at the Buc-ee’s in Calhoun, Georgia, and just a couple of hours later, we found ourselves at Crossville, Tennessee, home to the first Buc-ee’s in the Volunteer State. Two Buc-ee’s visits in one morning? It was a journey filled with great conversations, fantastic food, and Buc-ee’s signature charm.

A Warm Tennessee Welcome
From the moment we stepped into the Crossville Buc-ee’s, we were greeted with that special blend of Southern charm and Buc-ee’s hospitality.

The staff was not only friendly but genuinely excited to hear about our journey to visit every Buc-ee’s location across the nation. We ended up spending almost 30 minutes chatting with the team, swapping stories, sharing laughs, and soaking in their enthusiasm for their work.

Their warmth made us feel right at home, and their pride in being part of such an iconic destination was inspiring. Crossville’s team exemplifies what we’ve come to love about Buc-ee’s—genuine people who go above and beyond to make every visit unforgettable.

Lunch Fit for a Traveler
After a big breakfast in Calhoun, we decided to keep things light for lunch at Crossville. Buc-ee’s is known for its indulgent options like brisket sandwiches and Beaver Nuggets, but did you know you can also eat light and healthy here?

My wife opted for a refreshing cup of grapes, while I enjoyed one of Buc-ee’s hidden gems: a cranberry and pecan chicken salad sandwich. The sweet and tangy cranberries paired perfectly with the crunch of pecans and the creamy chicken salad—an absolutely delightful choice.

To round it off, I sipped on a large Buc-ee’s diet soda, which was as crisp and refreshing as ever. Buc-ee’s isn’t just about comfort food; they offer a variety of healthy options, including fresh salads, vegetable cups, and meat and cheese selections. Whether you’re looking for a full meal or a quick snack, Buc-ee’s has something for every appetite.

Cleanliness Beyond Compare
If there’s one thing that truly sets Buc-ee’s apart from every other gas station or convenience store, it’s their impeccable cleanliness.

Crossville was spotless—just like every Buc-ee’s we’ve ever visited. Inside, the aisles were perfectly organized, the floors shined, and the restrooms were pristine. Outside, the gas pumps and parking lot were well-maintained, with not a stray wrapper or drop of oil in sight.

This level of cleanliness doesn’t happen by accident. It’s thanks to Buc-ee’s dedicated cleaning teams, who work tirelessly to keep everything tidy and welcoming. These unsung heroes are the backbone of what makes Buc-ee’s so special. Their attention to detail ensures that every customer has a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Why Buc-ee’s is One of a Kind
There are gas stations and convenience stores everywhere, but there’s only one Buc-ee’s.

The cleanliness, the quality of the food, the friendly staff, and the sheer scale of offerings make Buc-ee’s a
destination, not just a pit stop. You can feel the care that goes into every detail, from the perfectly folded t-shirts to the sparkling clean bathrooms. It’s no wonder we keep coming back—and why we’re so committed to visiting every Buc-ee’s across the nation.

Crossville: A New Star on Our Buc-ee’s Map
Crossville’s Buc-ee’s isn’t just a stop along the road; it’s a shining example of everything that makes Buc-ee’s a travelers’ oasis. Between the incredible team, the delicious (and healthy!) lunch options, and the spotless facilities, this location is truly special.

If you’re traveling through Tennessee, make sure to add Crossville to your itinerary. You’ll find more than just a clean restroom or a quick snack—you’ll find a warm welcome, a variety of food options, and the kind of experience that makes you want to come back again and again.

We can’t wait for our next stop: Sevierville! Until then, here’s to more Buc-ee’s adventures, more incredible staff, and more spotless, welcoming destinations.

Countdown to Amarillo: Buc-ee's to Open December 16th, 2024

Big news for Buc-ee’s fans and travelers along the historic Route 66: the Amarillo, Texas Buc-ee’s has moved up its grand opening date to December 16, 2024! Originally scheduled to open in February 2025, the new timeline means this much-anticipated location will welcome guests just in time for the holiday season.

This announcement has us buzzing with excitement, even if we’ll have to wait a little longer for our first visit. Here’s what we know about this massive project and why it’s a game-changer for the region.

A Lone Star Gem on Route 66
Construction on the 74,000-square-foot travel cente began on
October 26, 2023, and Buc-ee’s has worked tirelessly to accelerate the timeline. The Amarillo location will feature 120 fueling stations, 24 electric vehicle chargers, and all the signature Buc-ee’s offerings—world-famous brisket sandwiches, freshly made Beaver Nuggets, a massive gift shop, and restrooms that are consistently hailed as the cleanest in the country.

“Amarillo is the midpoint between Chicago and Los Angeles on the fabled Route 66,” said Stan Beard, Buc-ee’s director of real estate, in 2023. “I can’t think of a better place to put a Buc-ee’s.”

Beyond its amenities, the new Buc-ee’s is expected to bring significant benefits to the area. The travel center will create around 200 jobs, further solidifying Buc-ee’s commitment to not just serving travelers but supporting local communities.

A Slight Change of Plans
Our original plan was to attend the grand opening of the Amarillo Buc-ee’s and combine it with a visit to family in nearby Lubbock. With the earlier date, unfortunately, we won’t be able to make it for the festivities. But rest assured, Amarillo is officially on our Buc-ee’s List, and we can’t wait to see it in person during a future trip to Texas.

To Arch “Beaver” Aplin III and Randy Pauly, Buc-ee’s Director of Bar-B-Que, we’ll miss seeing y’all at this grand opening. But don’t worry—we’re already planning to make it to the next one!

Next Stop: Brunswick, Georgia
The next big Buc-ee’s opening on our radar is the Brunswick, Georgia location, tentatively scheduled to open on June 2, 2025. At 74,000 square feet, this will be the largest Buc-ee’s in Georgia, located at Exit 42 off Interstate 95 on Georgia 99.

While we’ll be sad to miss Amarillo’s big day, we’re looking forward to celebrating in Brunswick as it continues Buc-ee’s tradition of combining Southern hospitality with an unmatched shopping and dining experience.

Why Amarillo’s Buc-ee’s Matters
Amarillo’s Buc-ee’s isn’t just another stop along the highway—it’s a beacon for travelers navigating the iconic Route 66. It’s a place where road warriors can find clean restrooms, delicious food, and a little Texas-sized charm. This location is poised to become a hub for locals and travelers alike, bringing the Buc-ee’s magic to the heart of the Texas Panhandle.

While we can’t be there for opening day, we’re thrilled to see Buc-ee’s continue its tradition of creating destinations that delight and inspire. For those lucky enough to attend the grand opening, be sure to grab a brisket sandwich for us—and maybe a picture with Buc-ee himself!

See You Soon, Amarillo
Although we’ll miss Amarillo’s December opening, it’s only a matter of time before we make our way to this landmark Buc-ee’s location. Until then, we’ll be gearing up for our next Buc-ee’s adventure—and counting down the days to Brunswick.

If you’re heading to Amarillo for opening day, let us know what you think! We can’t wait to hear your stories and recommendations for our future visit.

Here’s to Buc-ee’s, the ultimate Traveler’s Oasis, and to another milestone on the road to visiting every single one!

A Third Time’s the Charm: A Christmas Shopping Extravaganza and a Squeaky-Clean Ride at Buc-ee’s Calhoun

There’s something magical about returning to a place that feels like home, and our third visit to the Buc-ee’s in Calhoun, Georgia, was nothing short of spectacular. From loading up on Christmas goodies to trying out their state-of-the-art carwash for the first time, this trip was a blend of holiday cheer and Buc-ee's brilliance that we couldn’t wait to share.

Christmas Shopping Made Easy at Buc-ee’s
If you’re looking for unique and thoughtful Christmas gifts, Buc-ee’s is a treasure trove of delights. We filled our cart with presents that are sure to bring smiles to our loved ones’ faces this holiday season:
  • Buc-ee’s Christmas Plushie**: Perfect for kids (or adults!) who adore the world’s most lovable beaver.
  • Elf Onesie: A hilarious and cozy gift that screams holiday spirit.
  • Plush Lap Blanket** and **Quilt**: These soft, warm treasures are perfect for chilly winter nights by the fire.
  • Buc-ee's Pillow: Who wouldn’t want to dream of Buc-ee's after resting their head on one of these?
  • Jams and Jellies: These are a must for anyone who loves a delicious breakfast spread or a creative twist in their recipes.
  • Red Cap with Beaver Ears: The ultimate fashion statement for any Buc-ee’s fan!
As always, Buc-ee’s didn’t just meet our expectations—they blew them out of the water. The store was brimming with festive decorations, making the holiday shopping experience even more special.

A Carwash Fit for a King (or a Buckaroo!)
But the real star of this trip? The Buc-ee’s carwash in Calhoun. Opened on Labor Day 2024, this isn’t just any carwash—it’s a destination in itself.

Let’s set the scene: A long, sleek tunnel of cleaning magic that transforms your vehicle into a gleaming work of art. We decided to give it a go after a road trip had left our car less than pristine. And wow—this carwash is a game-changer.

From the moment we drove up, we knew we were in for something special. The conveyor system was smooth and efficient, and the attendants were incredibly helpful. Once inside, it was like entering a colorful, high-tech wonderland. Vibrant LED lights danced along the tunnel, and the sound of spinning brushes and water jets was oddly soothing.

When we exited, our car looked as if it had just rolled off the showroom floor. Sparkling windows, a spotless exterior, and even the tires were shining. Buc-ee’s didn’t just wash our car—they gave it the VIP treatment.

Why We Keep Coming Back
Each visit to Buc-ee’s in Calhoun has been memorable, but this one felt especially meaningful. Maybe it’s because we’re knee-deep in the holiday spirit, or maybe it’s just that Buc-ee’s always knows how to make every trip an adventure.

Whether it’s picking up the perfect gifts, grabbing a brisket sandwich (you know we couldn’t resist), or trying out something new like the carwash, Buc-ee’s continues to prove why it’s so much more than just a convenience store. It’s a travelers' oasis and a destination worth visiting again and again.

Kansas Welcomes Its First Buc-ee’s Travel Center – A Texas-Sized Attraction Heads to the Heartland!

The Kansas City area will soon become the proud home of its very first Buc-ee's! This exciting development was made official after the Unified Government (UG) of Wyandotte County approved the final steps in the planning process during a meeting on Thursday night. For those familiar with Buc-ee’s, this Texas-based travel center is much more than a pit stop; it’s a true destination, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see it expand further into the Midwest.

A Milestone for Kansas and Buc-ee’s
This will be the first Buc-ee’s in Kansas, arriving just under a year after the brand opened its first Missouri location in Springfield. Set to be constructed at 601 Village West Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas, this location promises the same beloved Buc-ee’s experience but in a new region of the country. The site is ideally situated near Kansas Speedway, Hollywood Casino, and Legends Outlets, making it a prime spot to attract visitors far and wide. The 25-acre plot, owned by Kansas Speedway, was rezoned from agricultural to commercial by the UG, paving the way for Buc-ee’s to move forward with a development agreement and finalize the land purchase.

What to Expect at Kansas’s First Buc-ee’s
If the renderings are any indication, this Buc-ee’s location will be a sight to behold. The travel center is slated to span 74,000 square feet, housing 120 gas pumps, 12 electric vehicle charging stations, and an impressive retail space filled with the signature Buc-ee’s food and merchandise. Buc-ee’s projects that this location will draw in over four million annual visitors, with many expected to come from outside of Kansas – a testament to the chain’s loyal fanbase and reputation as a "Traveler's Oasis."

Adding to the excitement, the Kansas location will provide around 200 jobs with competitive wages starting between $18 and $21 per hour. With a $95 million price tag primarily funded through private investments, Buc-ee’s is making a major commitment to Kansas City, Kansas.

Exciting news for Buc-ee’s fans and road-trippers along the southern I-95 corridor: a new Buc-ee's location has received preliminary approval from Hardeeville City Council and is on track to open just off Exit 8 of I-95. This highly anticipated location, nestled conveniently near Hilton Head and Savannah, will offer weary travelers a spot to recharge in Buc-ee’s iconic style.

Expected to be finalized on November 21, this development will bring only the second Buc-ee’s to South Carolina; the first opened off I-95 in Florence, about 165 miles up the road from Hardeeville. With Buc-ee’s signature blend of Texas warmth, legendary snacks, and clean facilities, this location promises to be a beacon for travelers. According to Scott Ratcliff, Buc-ee’s Director of Engineering, the Hardeeville Buc-ee’s is positioned to “pull in weary travelers,” offering them the "world’s cleanest bathrooms," friendly service, and a vast array of food options to keep them fueled for the road ahead.
